Hai-Tech. Japan. 2011

“Home-for-All” is an initiative launched by Toyo Ito, Riken Yamamoto, Hiroshi Naito, Kengo Kuma and Kazuyo Sejima to involve the international community of designers and architects in the design of emergency architecture, thinking of places such as those in Japan devastated by the earthquake and tsunami occurred on March 2011. The goal is to plan a basic structure, a community, a social center; a technology easy to implement.

We design a lightweight polystyrene modular unit of 30 m2, that will resolve efficiently the need for temporary houses, but that will also serve for a future reuse to build social housing, avoiding the waste of the material.
